Stacey Dodds ('96, right) is Chief Engineer, Broadcast Sound Services for Technicolor's Audio Post division in Burbank CA. They work on numerous popular TV series such as Family Guy, Castle, The Vampire Diaries, American Horror Story, The Cleveland Show and Hawaii Five-O, plus major hits of the past decade including Glee, Desperate Housewives, and Dexter. In 2015, Technicolor won the Oscar for Best Sound Mixing for the film "Whiplash" with Ben Wilkins (on left in the photo) and Craig Mann.
After graduating OIART, back in 1997, Stacey moved to LA to work for Ocean Studios Burbank where he was hired to rebuild a vintage 1974 Neve 8048. In 2001 he became the Chief Technical Engineer for Chalice Recording in Hollywood where he worked with Christina Aguilera, Brittney Spears, Gwen Stefani, Pharell Williams, Justin Timberlake, Mariah Carey, Jay-Z, Kayne West, Sean Combs, Trent Reznor, Dave Grohl, Blink 182 and many more. He built Christina Aguilera's home studio in Beverly Hills and worked as a consultant/technician for Conway Studios, OddsOn Recording Studios, Mad Labs, Inc, Crystal Studios, Universal Mastering, Sonoma Mountain Estates & Studios and a host of others.
Starting at Technicolor in 2007, he consulted on and built a state of the art 55,000 sq ft post production audio facility on the Paramount Studios lot consisting of 8 Euphonix System 5 consoles with two mix stages being fully Dolby Atmos and Barco Auro 3D surround sound capable. In addition to being chief engineer for broadcast sound services, Stacey is also in charge of digital content security and works in conjunction with Technicolor's Global Security team, MPAA and Marvel to ensure the safety of their clients' content as well as employees' sensitive personal information.
